2023 WATERMAIN REPLACEMENT
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project involved the replacement of 2,300m of under–ground watermain across multiple sites, includingservice connections, valve replacements, and hydrantinstallations. Full rehabilitation of concrete, asphalt, andlandscaping was also completed. Shoring techniqueswere implemented to minimize traffic disruption, andtemporary water lines were installed at each location toensure continuous water service for residents.
PROJECT DETAILS
The project involves watermain replacement at 9 locations across Calgary and includes:
310m of 150mm PVC DR18, including valves, services, bends, and tie-ins to existing lines
795m of 200mm PVC DR18, including valves, services, bends, and tie-ins to existing lines
547m of 250mm PVC DR18, including valves, services, bends, and tie-ins to existing lines
634m of 300mm PVC DR18, including valves, services, bends, and tie-ins to existing lines
70m of 200mm HDPE pipe burst
11 fire hydrants
82m of lead service replacement
2,000m² of surface restoration (asphalt)
